My name is full name is Helena Sharley Blaine Hamm, a name that is as diverse and complicated as I am. I am a first semester junior at the University of Southern Mississippi where I am majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Sociology http://www.usm.edu/. I recently studied abroad in Jamaica and had the time of my life. I am the public relations and alumnae communications chair for my sorority, Phi Mu http://www.phimu.org/Home. I am a full time student and part time receptionist at Village Salon. I grew up in a small town an hour north of Hattiesburg called Stringer, MS. After graduation, I hope to move to Tennessee and acquire my masters and then work in the music business. Hopefully, I will at some point meet the love of my life and have an obnoxiously southern wedding.
I knew I wanted to go into Public Relations after I competed in the Miss Hospitaltiy Pageant (I was the 2012 Miss Jasper County Hospitality winner) http://www.misshospitality.com/. I realized that promoting myself and working with others is something I really enjoy. Not to mention, I come from a family of local politicians and I am the daughter of natural salesman- both with outgoing personalities and big mouths.
I do my best to maintain a healthy lifestyle; meaning I occasionally work out and try to pass up fast food restaurants (with the exception of my weekly Chick-fil-a splurge), as well as spend time daily to read a devotion. I enjoy cooking and trying new foods. I am the definition of a neat freak and usually make my roommates miserable with my obsessive cleaning. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and grew up hunting and fishing. I also love to travel and experience new places. By the grace of God, I am feisty and aggressive. I know at times I am over bearing, but I take pride in being level headed and having the drive needed to achieve my goals.
